Doves for Peace
The Project...

Doves for Peace was inspired by our annual participation in "Pinwheels for Peace" tradition.
Doves for Peace is the manifestation of the Dominican pillar of Community. Students convey messages of spirituality, community services and virtuous living as an affirmation of our Christian duty to serve God's will. To each of us, peace can take on a different meaning, but, in the end, it all comes down to a simple definition: a state of calm and serenity, with no anxiety, the absence of violence, freedom from conflict or disagreement among people or groups of people.

MY SINK TWIN!!!!
Hello Everyone!! I hope you all are enjoying your summer vacation!! I recently came back from our yearly trip to Puerto Rico and I stayed on the island of Culebra for a bit and I found my sink twin!!!
Check it out!

Check it out!
I always say...if you can dream it you can make it happen!
The creator of this sink is Jorge Acevedo and he is an artist who lives and works in Culebra. You can view his work here www.artefango.com.
I was able to meet and chat with Jorge and this is when he took me on a tour of his studio and that's when I saw his sink....Luckily I had my iPhone in hand and showed him OUR SINK...Then we talked about being resourceful and being a role model for the kids and about balance in life and within our art that we make.

The Sink's Debut
In this image we see how Connor washes his hands while Phil
controls the water flow.
In this image we can see behind the scenes of how the sink works.
The 36 gallon bucket pictured here houses the clean water that is then filtered through a pond pump through the "faucet".
This is a detailed shot of the faucet with running water.
This picture shows the dirty discard water. The container is smaller (10 Gallons) so that it is easy to transport when emptying the used water.
One of MacKenzie and John's favorite task....emptying the full container of dirty water (every Friday morning).
